It is only fitting that we celebrate this auspicious occasion with a series of special events. To this end, Exalted Ruler John Dilks has appointed the following members to a 100th Anniversary Committee to plan and execute these activities:

  1. Tom Barger, PER, Chairman
  2. John Damonte, PER, District Leader
  3. John Dilks, ER
  4. Charles Dreschler, PER
  5. Dick Gay, PER, Trustee
  6. Bill Harper, Secretary
  7. Jack Jones, PDDGER
  8. Steve O’Brien, Leading Knight
  9. Jeanne Atno, Lecturing Knight
  10. Ed Rodriguez, Trustee

Although the Committee is considering activities such as sporting tournaments, luncheons, dinner dances, crab feeds, BBQs, we need your help to define the specifics of what these events should be. The events would be scheduled for the year 2008. Many of the events would be scheduled for the month of September, when the weather is nice and most people are back from vacation. We are planning to invite the President of the California-Hawaii Elks Association to be the Principal Speaker at a formal dinner and dance in September. It has been suggested that we organize a series of District-wide tournaments in softball, tennis, handball, billiards, Pedro, Bridge and bowling. As a member, what would you recommend?
Please jot your suggestions on a piece of paper and drop it off in the Lodge Office or just hand it to one of the Committee members listed above.

During the last few weeks, you may have noticed members wearing new polo shirts with the 100th Anniversary logo on them. This is a means of calling your attention to the fact that now is the time to plan for our celebration in 2008!
